We will be working with the media on our objectives over the coming months in the following ways:

• Raising awareness of loneliness – Working with voluntary sector partners and their case studies to raise awareness of loneliness and why ending it matters.

• Building the evidence base - gathering the evidence and finding the gaps in current interventions, then promoting what works to specific health and social care sector media. We will be targeting both public and voluntary sector practitioners working with older people.
• Future-proofing for individuals – we aim to work in a high profile way with the media to inform people and help them future-proof their own lives. We can use new media and old to share success stories from across age groups and ensure as many people as possible take early action to prevent them from becoming lonely in older age.
• Agreeing a vision and action for all – we will be targeting specific audiences to ensure action is taken in the less usual places to end loneliness. Businesses, high streets and government bodies will all be invited and challenged to take action.
